We’re really excited to bring you Part 1 of an ODN video exclusive from Wuhan, the Chinese city at the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak. 

In our video Martin, an Irish citizen who's lived in the city for eight years, attempts to rescue his friend’s cat Leia from her empty apartment. But with the city in complete lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus, gaining access to her community won’t be easy.

As he journeys through the deserted streets of Wuhan, Martin gives us a candid account of how life has changed since the appearance of coronavirus. 

Since he sent us this video update, the Chinese authorities have blocked citizens’ access to the global internet using VPN services, so this may be one of the last ‘unsanctioned’ posts you’ll see from the region.
